Engineering Design Lab
This is a dynamic, hands-on course for grades 8–12 that brings real-world engineering to life through creative, project-based learning. Meeting once per week for 28 weeks, this course leads students through a wide variety of engineering challenges designed to develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, and innovative thinking.
Throughout the year, students will:
Design and test cardboard furniture that supports human weight
Program and modify humanoid robots
Create magnetic levitation trains
Visualize sound through cymatics experiments
Construct hydraulic arms, water filtration systems, and more!
No prior experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to explore. Every project emphasizes the engineering design process: planning, building, testing, redesigning, and sharing results.
The course culminates in a Capstone Innovation Showcase, where students present an original solution to a real-world problem in a science-fair style event.
Whether your student is a future inventor, designer, builder, or just someone who loves a good challenge—Engineering Design Lab offers a fun, supportive environment to explore STEM in action.
