A Journey Through Time: The History of Ancient Civilizations

Travel through ancient civiliations via film, lecture, and literature.  Learn about all about the history of the world from Ancient Mesopotamia through the Roman Empire.   

The History of Comparative Mythology: From Homer to Harry Potter

The major aim of this course will be to discuss and develop the student’s knowledge of ancient and classical mythology, medieval epics, and modern fantasy literature and film and the role real history played in the writing, shaping, and development of these fantasy stories.

We pay for music lessons, we pay for ballet and those are amazing, but knowing our history keeps us free.  The cliche is true: those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.  These are college level courses.  If you are interested in any of the other courses listed on the courses page let us know and we can arrange for you to take them via zoom from home.
