About Us

Alabama STEAM Academy is a homeschool-centered learning organization dedicated to providing innovative, hands-on education in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Based in Cullman, Alabama, we serve families across the region with high-quality, values-friendly programs designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and cultivate real-world skills.We offer a variety of opportunities—including a weekly co-op, à la carte classes, academic support, tutoring, and ACT prep—led by experienced, passionate instructors. Our programs are flexible, engaging, and designed to complement each family's unique homeschool journey.At our core, we believe that learning thrives in community. Through collaborative classes, supportive relationships, and creative enrichment opportunities, Alabama STEAM Academy equips students not just with knowledge—but with purpose, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Meet Our Director

Mrs. Jennifer Garcia

Jennifer Garcia is a Cullman native with over 20 years of homeschooling experience. A seasoned educator and advocate, she has homeschooled through every stage, including supporting a child with a visual learning disability (convergence insufficiency).  She  has worked with a wide range of curricula, including K12 and  is a passionate supporter of the Charlotte Mason method. Jennifer believes in the power of curiosity-driven, relationship-centered learning.

Jennifer holds a B.S. in Business Information Systems and is Oracle Certified, bringing over two decades of experience as a software engineer with major IT, public safety, and homeland security firms. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and has spent significant time throughout Mexico and Central America. A career highlight includes overseeing the installation and training of an Emergency Operations Center in El Salvador for the Policía Nacional Civil.

Her academic strengths lie in math, science, Spanish, computer science, ACT prep, and navigating the high school years, including dual enrollment. She is a trusted mentor and advisor for new and veteran homeschool families alike.

Jennifer is a founding member of The Alabama Homeschool Connection (Formerly the Cullman Homeschool Connection), CHARGe, a former teacher at Lionsgate Christian School in Madison, Alabama, and currently serves as the President of the Timeless Homeschool Events Cullman Chapter. She continues to be an enthusiastic resource for the homeschool community, offering both expertise and encouragement to families on the journey.
