About the Event
We are offerring a hybridized Earth /Environmental Science Class.  This class is suitable for Highschool credit and is differentiaited so that middle schoolers can participate as well.  everyone will study the same topics in order and do similar labs.  Highschoolers will just go deeper into the material. Class will run Oct thru End of May.  Â
We will use propello for the middles and BJU for the highschooler.Â
When students explore, they soar.
The Propello Science 6-8 curriculum takes an inquiry-driven approach to learning. Each unit is anchored by a real-world phenomenon, incorporating discourse, experimentation, and research to spark curiosity and engagement.
Students will enjoy the challages the curriculum poses as well s and going down rabbiit holes to understand how and why our earth systems workgether. Â
Highschoolers will need a 3 ring binder, a Copy of BJU Earth Science 4th edition and lab manual. we will meet with google meet as well as in person, so you will need a webcam, Â there will be meetups for labs and at the end of the class we will have a showcase of Earth science projects. You will need access to a printer.
Middle schoolers will also need to get a binder for their research, but will not need the BJU materials. Their work is contained online, throughout the course they will have investigatory readings. Â We believe that invstigative discover is the best way to learn, so there will be several projects throughout the class.Â
We will have weekly discussions regarding Topics in the field and lab opportunities.   Since this is an experimental model the only fee you have is the software and facilities  fee.  You must provide the materials for your labs.  Â
Assuming the class works as I expect it too we,  we will  build a radio telescope at the end.
We are not doing the course for profit, but will need a $20 software and supplies fee. per semester.
Please message us for questions either though Facebook or chat. Â You can also email us at connection@cullmanhomeschoo.com
